Parking in the Kennedy Theater lot is no longer allowed. I’m including part of an email from one of the production people there to clear things up.
I wanted to make you aware of the new parking policies that are now in place over here. Going forward, parking in the Kennedy Theater lot or the side parking by S Wilmington St (behind Memorial and Fletcher) are permitted parking only. Anybody who parks in either lot without a parking pass will receive a ticket of at least $30 dollars. We are not financially responsible for parking tickets, towed vehicles, tire boots, etc. as parking is now supervised through the City of Raleigh. Parking in the bus lane is strictly prohibited unless driving a truck/bus for a client, in this case speak with one of the production supervisors.
That being said, crew can park at the Convention Center Deck at 38 W. Lenoir St., we can provide a voucher to bring the cost of parking to $5 dollars.
Parking at the gravel lot is highly discouraged, as it is leased by the North Carolina Symphony, but crew can attempt to park there at the vehicle owner’s expense. Any of the free parking spots around the complex is fair game (e.g., the side street by McDonald’s or the diagonal parking spots before the bus lane on S Wilmington St.).
If crew is staying past 10pm, I have been told that they can park at the City Center Parking Deck at 429 S Wilmington St (across the Lincoln Theater). Supposedly, the gates will go up at 10pm and they won’t have to pay for parking.
The full policy is below….
